Legi Alonso x Deflow

Most grips are based on circular or rectangular perforations. In any case, the most common resources tend to be geometric. However, from the beginning of this project, my intention was to break away from that and establish a more personal nod through art or music to produce a more ‘alive’ grip.

When the Deflow crew gave 100% freedom to créate it, I thought that 'Le Violon d'Ingres' by Man Ray (a really groundbreaking surrealist artista) was the perfect symbolism to convey that experimental touch to the product.

On the other hand, given that by now the brand's double circular logo is something quite recognizable and iconic in all their grips, they gave me permission –again- to introduce two pentacles (a tribute to death/black metal) instead of their 'D'.

When they saw the result their face came to say: 'we won't sell a single one'*. However, they are people of their word, they assumed their mistake and there was no censorship 😉

I wanted it all white. They said, why not black? In the end… Both of them.*How few have eaten from creative freedom!

How difficult is to create a unique traction pad? We made this question to our amigo Legi Alonso and allowed him to bring us whatever idea he had in mind. This is the result of our collaboration, a traction pad that works perfectly, and that looks beautiful and unique in any board.

The tail is a bit thicker than most of our models, as it has being adapted to suit any normal shortboard. The central piece has a 6 mm central in order to offer extra traction. Side pieces have been designed to hold your foot in place at any manoeuvre.
